Counselling and Career Guidance Cell

Aims and Objectives: Selecting an appropriate career becomes imperative for a successful life for students in the contemporary competitive and evolving occupational environment. However, degree-level students are also affected positively and negatively by their emotional, individual and socio-economic biases, which may easily lead them to inefficient pathways. Therefore, the primary aims and objectives of the CCGC are-

i) To assist the students in opting for the best possible combination of courses in the UG and PG Level Courses.

ii) To enable them to choose a suitable career during and after the completion of institutional education.

iii) To help them to construct and implement individualised Career Plans for the time-bound achievement of their career goals.

Modus Operandi: The modus operandi of CCGC involves three different but highly correlated modes of counselling and guidance.

i) Individual Counseling: Individualised counselling is given to the intended students whenever and wherever required covering every aspect of career planning and execution, depending on their analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. In this context, on-campus and off-campus counselling and guidance are given optimally by the members of the CCGC and other resource persons, depending on their availability and convenience.

ii) Group Counseling:Group counselling is also provided to the students offline and online. It covers special talks, presentations and conversations with resource persons and successful professionals in different fields.

iii) Specialised Coaching:Specialised coaching is also provided to the students along with the regular semester courses. Regular participatory and experiential classes are taken by the teacher and invited resource persons on different subjects, which are generally covered by the general studies in different competitive examinations. It also educates the participants on quantitative and viva-voce aptitudes.
