About the Department:
The Department of Education was introduced in Hem Chandra DevGoswami College in July, 1967 as a core subject. The Honours in Education for Bachelor degree under Dibrugarh University was commenced in 1972 with fifteen students. From that time, students of the Nitaipukhuri region have been pursuing Honours in Education continuously. Now, the department provides Honours in Education under the Choice Based Credit System offered by Dibrugarh University. There are 56 nos. students in all semesters in the 2022-23 academic session.

• To innovate and achieve excellence in teaching-learning/pedagogy, training and research extension activities, to realize regional needs from the perspective of national goals.
