Weaving represents the cultural identity of a community. Assam is the inhabitant of various communities which have different colourful hand-weaving heritage designs, fabrics and crafts in dresses and other clothes. The Weaving Training Center of H.C.D.G. College, Nitaipukhuri is established on 30^th August, 2017 and has taken the initiative in this regard. The centre is purely self–financed by the members.

Objectives:

1. To aspire students about the social value and the economic prospect of traditional weaving, textile and fabrics of different communities inhabitant of Assam through the ‘Earn while you Learn’ programme.
2. To help women of the underprivileged section who can earn money through weaving and become self-sufficient.
3. To weave cloths as gifts so that the college authority can be self-dependent in felicitation of guests in different organized programmes.
